Privacy Policy

Local by design.

Effective August 13, 2026. PasteList is built to manage clipboard history without collecting your data.

Summary

PasteList does not collect, track, sell, transmit, or share personal data. It has no user accounts, cloud service, advertising, analytics, or telemetry. Clipboard history is stored only on the Mac where PasteList is installed.

Clipboard history

When PasteList is running, it can save supported clipboard contents such as text, URLs, rich text, images, files, and folders. This history is written to PasteList’s local App Sandbox container and is not uploaded to us or any third party.

Clipboard entries marked by their source application as concealed or transient are ignored and are not added to history.

Automatic Paste permission

Automatic Paste is optional. If you enable it, PasteList uses the macOS PostEvent permission to activate the previous application and send only the ⌘V keyboard shortcut after you select an item.

PasteList does not use the Accessibility UI API to inspect, read, or modify another application’s interface. Without this permission, PasteList restores the selected item to the clipboard and asks you to press ⌘V manually.

Data retention and deletion

Unpinned clipboard history is automatically limited by age and count. Pinned items are kept until you remove them.

  • Use Clear History inside PasteList to delete stored clipboard history.
  • Delete individual items from the history when you no longer need them.
  • Uninstall PasteList and remove its app container to remove all remaining local data.

Network access and third parties

The PasteList app does not require network access and does not send clipboard contents, diagnostics, or usage information to us. The public PasteList website may be delivered by its hosting provider as a normal web page, but it contains no account system or product analytics.

Children’s privacy

PasteList does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If PasteList’s data practices change, this policy will be updated before the changed version is released. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current policy.
